I am so proud of these superheroes!  They did a phenomenal job when we practiced the poems, so I know you will be amazed at their poise as they recite their poems this afternoon.  Thank you, again, for all your help in setting up and working with your children with their memorization.

We completed the second story of Unit 6 in our reading series and will be moving on to story #3 next week.  It’s another four day week, so lots of practice will be needed at home.  There will be no more required journal writing, but if your child wants to keep writing, please encourage them to do so. I will be sending home a list of words to practice for our spelling bee in the homework baggy next week.  This will take place on the last Tuesday of our school year, June 10th. The winner will have the opportunity to choose either a gift card to Barnes and Noble or keep Superbear!

Next week we will finish Chapter 13 in math and begin to learn about fractions.  We will finish our math curriculum the following week.

We are about halfway through the 50 states and are continuing to write about what makes each student special.  We’ll get there, one way or another!

The students are also beginning to write their own chapter book. (They wanted to do this!)  They chose their topics today and will start the process next Tuesday.

MAP testing results will be sent home in the green folders on Wednesday, May 28th.  For the most part, most students have shown significant growth in both reading and math since taking this test in the fall.

The last day of wearing uniforms will be on Friday, June 6th.  Students should dress up on the last day, June 11th because we will attend Mass at 9:00.

We are out of tissues again!  If you could send in a box, that would be very much appreciated.

Enjoy the extra long weekend!  We remember those brave men and women who sacrificed their lives for our country.
