    6/6/25

Well, this is my final newsletter for this school year.  Wow, how far these superheroes have come!  We have finished our reading and math curriculums for first grade and the students are now ready for grade two.

The final benchmark tests for reading and math will be given next Monday.

Mr. Heavern surprised us as our Mystery Reader on Tuesday and treated everyone to a popsicle treat.  Our last Mystery Reader, Mr. Cefalo paid us a visit yesterday and read some Dad jokes to us.  He also surprised us with popsicles on a very hot and humid day.

We had a wonderful field day.  Thank you, parents, for all your help.

We have a few more students to write about in our “special me” booklets.

We will finish up our states on Tuesday.  We will play a few games of state bingo using our newly acquired information.

It’s been a couple of very sweet weeks as we celebrated all the summer birthdays.  We saved the best for last, though.  We will celebrate Ms. Loraine’s 80th birthday on Monday.

I wonder who will be crowned our spelling bee champ this year?  I think it is going to be very interesting.  We have lots of excellent spellers this year.  I guess we’ll find out on Tuesday.

Students may dress casually on Monday and Tuesday, but must dress up for Mass on Wednesday. Dismissal will be at 11:20.  Please look at the blog for information regarding the uniform swap.

We will take a walking field trip to Cravings on Tuesday after lunch and enjoy our last afternoon together while eating ice cream.  This is my treat!

Report cards will be mailed out within a couple of weeks.

Thank you for everything you did for us..  It was a great year.  I really don’t want to send them on to second grade, but I know I must.  May you and your families have a very restful, safe summer.  Hope to see you in September!
